Is the Heart Attack And Stroke are same?
Are you aware of the difference between Heart attack and stroke? Both are different though the symptoms are similar?
Surprisingly yes, heart attack and stroke are dissimilar medical conditions affecting different organs of the body.
Here we are trying to brief you about the difference between heart attack and stroke and perhaps, it may help you to differentiate both health problems.
It happens when the coronary artery gets blocked due to plaque buildup.
Symptoms of heart attack are shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue and nausea, sleep problems, discomfort in arms, neck, back, upper stomach and jaw, and energy loss.
Difference between Heart Attack and Stroke
Heart attack is faced when there is a blockage in the blood flow to the heart. This is caused due to less supply of oxygen-rich blood, heart muscles stop functioning anymore.
Further reduction of blood flow to the heart is because of fat deposits called plaque leading to the artery narrowing and blockage, this is known as artherosclerosis. Artherosclerosis is the major cause of damaging heart and its parts, can named as Heart Attack Surgery.
Stroke happens when brain doesn’t function due to blockage of blood supply to brain, which is caused due to clots. It is also termed as cerebrovascular accident (CVA), cerebrovascular insult (CVI), or colloquially brain attack.
Symptoms of stroke include experiencing drooping on one side of the face and having uneven smile, arm weakness, unable to speak and finds difficulty in understanding, trouble speaking, severe headaches, dizziness, and difficulty walking.
A stroke is also because of artery blockage, it sounds similar but it is to the artery which supplies blood to the brain. Due to this blockage to any of those arteries, brain and its parts begin to get damage or die.
Brain attacks of two types that can happen based on the blood flow interruption. They are:
a. Ischemic Stroke: This occurs when blood vessels in the brain get interruption while supplying blood resulting in damage or at times death to tissues.
b. Hemorrhagic Stroke: This happens when there is bleeding in the blood vessels of the brain due to blood clot bursts.
Difference between Stroke and Heart Attack
The stroke is different than heart attack is because of artery blockage which supplies blood to the brain. It is more serious often than heart attack.
