The 40 year old has an outstanding record in American stock car racing. Michael Edwards, as he known made his big break in 2002 at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for MB Motor Sports. Carl is first cousins with Ken Schrader, a race driver removed from NASCAR some years back. While getting into stock car racing, Schrader advised Carl to first learn and practice driving on dirt tracks before fully getting into it.

In 2003, he won the first race in Kentucky and earned the title ‘Rookie of the Year’. Carl made his debut in ‘The Nextel Cup Series’ in 2004. He began his fulltime career in 2005 with Roush Fenway Racing. The former racer won the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007. In 2010, he had a controversial win at the nationwide race at the Texas Motor Speedway. He however, later lost the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Series in 2011 to Tony Stewart. Famous for doing a backflip from his car after his first win and in result saving himself from a fall.

In 2012, Carl Edwards lost the Nation Wide Series but did not lose hope. He went on to win two races the following year in the Sprint Cup Championship (2013). In 2014, he joined Joe Gibbs driving the famous No. 19 Toyota Camry. He has won a list of matches competing in many races. In 2017, Fox Sport reported that the legend announced that he was retiring from racing, replaced by Suarez Daniel. He stated that, “I don’t have a life raft I’m jumping onto. I am just jumping, and in a way, that makes it easier. This is a pure, simple, personal decision”.

In his lifetime, Carl Edwards has acted in television shows and series such as ‘Logan Lucky’, ‘The Price is Right’ and ‘24’.Some of his favourite films are ‘Cast Away’, ‘The Gladiator’ and ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’. In his free time, he likes to travel the world. He also has a passion in music and owns a record label called Back40 Records. The label record was a partnership with his long-time friend from high school. Carl also loves to listen to old rock and RnB. His favourite bands are Bon Jovi and The Scorpions.
