Sheets took lots of risks and earned a lot of wealth in the business, but he also had scary experiences like finding a dead body wrapped in a plastic bag in one of the storage locker he bought, which became a police case.
They found that the previous owner of the container murdered his wife and kept her in the storage unit.
The show Storage Wars began in 2010, and Darell was among the first to be a part of it from the beginning.
Darrell included his son Brandon Sheets in the storage business and even featured on the show working alongside his father.

In 2016, Sheets decided to lose some weight since he was more than 300 pounds. He tried several methods, but all in vain despite the hard work and exercise. Sheets took the help of Nutrisystem to enable him to lose a significant amount of weight.
He said, “My joints hurt. I was tired of exercise with no results. Plus, I had to get away from eating cheeseburgers and making bad choices on the set”.
He also said that Nutrisystem was the easy answer. He went from being 315lbs to 197lbs and shared the joy on Twitter.
Sadly, Darrell got ill for three months and afterward suffered two back-to-back heart attacks. He was hospitalized and conveyed messages to his followers on Instagram.
He said he later found out he had congestive heart failure and a severe problem with his lung. He underwent major surgery in March 2019 while documenting his journey on Instagram. He urged his follower to take good care of their bodies and said he was paying the price. He said he would take better care of himself since that was a life-changing experience and very emotional.
Currently, Sheets is in good health and live s in Lake Havasu City, Ariz, near the California border.
