Jeanne Moos was born on May 21, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.  She holds a degree in public communication from Syracuse University, New York, United States. She served as a correspondent at WPTZ-TV before joining CNN 1981. So far, she has received a couple of awards and nominations.

She started her career in 1976 as a correspondent at WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, New York, which is an affiliate of NBC. Then, she was the first woman hired as a correspondent by the station. So, there was a little bit of skepticism as to how she’ll fare. Fortunately, she did so well. She covered several local and national stories. One of them is the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, New York.

She joined CNN in 1981as a reporter. She covered notable events and stories like the political corruption in the United States, and how the United Nations managed the 1991 Gulf War. Before then, she reported on the Beijing student uprising. Also, she was privileged to have interviewed Mikhail Gorbachev.

In 1995, she began a series that she is widely known for, “Making The MOOSt Of It”. In addition, she appeared on programs like The Situation Room and Showbiz Tonight on CNN Headline News. She once reported a story of a man who removed his shirt on a plane and took the trip bare-chested.  Also, she recently gave a blow-by-blow account of how two passengers brawled on a flight because of face masks.

1988, she received the 1988 Front Page Award, and in 1989, she won an Emmy Award for her contribution in the coverage of the Beijing uprising. She was part of the teams that won a Golden ACE Award and DuPont Award for the coverage of events in China. Also, in 1991, she won the Korn/Ferry International Journalism Award. No doubt, Jeanne Moos is a successful journalist/reporter/broadcaster.
