Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly known as R. Kelly is an American songwriter, singer, record producer and an actor and was a basketball player.

Robert Sylvester Kelly, also known as R. Kelly, was born on the 8th of January, 1967. He was born on the Southern side of Chicago. He is the third of 4 children by his mother, Joanne.

Kelly is an American and was born in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Public-housing projects in Chicago with is mom. His mother, who was a professional singer, taught him powerful lessons in the Christian faith. His singing style was initially said to be Church-trained, but most of his lyrics gradually drifted towards sex.

R. Kelly was said to be secretly but illegally married to Aaliyah Dana Haughton on the 31st of August, 1994. The marriage was said to be illegal because Aaliyah was only 15 years old at that time. Aaliyah’s parents ensured that the marriage was dissolved. in February, 1995. Unfortunately, Aaliyah died in an airplane crash on the 25th of August, 2001.

Kelly Married Andrea Lee in 1996 and they gave birth to 3 children. However, in 2005, Andrea filed a restraining order against R. Kelly and the marriage was eventually dissolved in January 2009. The names of their children are: Joann Kelly, Robert Kelly Jr. and Jaah Kelly.
