Robert Swan Mueller is a special counsel for the United States Department of Justice. He was born on 7 august 1944 in New York at the Doctors Hospital, Manhattan.

He grew up in Princeton, and went to the Princeton Country Day School. For high school, he attended the St Paul’s School in Cord, New Hampshire. In high school, he became the Lacrosse, hockey, and soccer captain, winning him the 1962 Gordon Medal as the top athlete in the school.
Upon graduation, he attended Princeton University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Bachelors of Arts in Politics in 1966. He went on to pursue his master’s degree in International relations at the New York University graduating in 1967.
In the following year, he joined the Marine Corp and later enrolled in the University of Virginia School of Law graduating in 1973.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000 which he recovered from after undergoing treatment.

After completing Law school in 1973, he started working as a litigator at Pillsbury Madison and Sutro law firm in San Francisco. He worked here for 3 years before quitting in 1976. He served in the United States Attorney’s office for 12 years.
In his 12 years of work he 1st served in the office of the US Attorney for the North District of California. In 1982 he moved to Boston where he worked as an assistant attorney in the office of the U.S Attorney for Massachusetts.
He continued working for the government until 1998 where he was finally named the US Attorney for the North District of California. Four years later he was nominated by President George W. Bush as the position of FBI director.
On August 2, 2001, he was voted in by the Senate as the Director of the FBI. After being elected president, Barack Obama asked that Mueller’s 10-year term, which was to expire 4 September, be renewed for an additional 2 years. James Corney replaced him on 4 September 2013.
In 2013, after leaving the FBI, he went to work at Stanford University as a consulting professor. He joined the WilmerHale law firm in 2014. He went to receive the 2016 United States Military Academy award, the Thayer Award.
In June the following year, he received the Baker Award from the Intelligence and National Alliance for his contribution. Finally, he announced to the public that he was going to retire as the special counsel and that the office would shut down. He made this announcement on 29 May 2019

Ann was born on 2 April 1948 in Sewickley. She is the daughter of Thomas Anderson Standish Jr ( father ) and Dorothy Lucile ( mother ). She went to Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut before heading off to high school in Sarah Lawrence College. She graduated and started working as a teacher for children with disabilities.
She has been known to support her husband so much so that the Law school, University of Virginia, acknowledges her as a true saint.

Swan is the firstborn son of Alice C. Truesdale and Robert Swan Mueller, Jr. His dad Jr was born in 1916 and passed away in 2007. His mother, born in 1920 kicked the bucket the same year her husband did. Junior, studied at Princeton University where he majored in psychology.
Like his son, he played lacrosse. His dad worked at DuPont as an executive. He had earlier served in the Navy And was deployed into the Atlantic and Mediterranean. This was during the 2nd world war.
