While he was in high school, Tom worked as a reporter for a local radio station in Alabama. After graduation, 1981 through 1990, Tom started his career as a local television anchor for the Alabama based channel WSFA, and the CBS-affiliated television station WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1990, after being signed up as a channel correspondent for ABC’s “ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings” and “Nightline”, Foreman moved to the network’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado. He hosted an episode of “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir” on April 15, 2000, before ending his stretch of 10 years with ABC in the same year.
In 2000, Foreman relocated to Washington and was signed up by the National Geographic.
