Gabriel Stefan Kapler is the current manager of the Major League Baseball (MLB) San Francisco Giants. He is also an American former baseball outfielder. He was born on July 31 1975 (44 years) in Hollywood, Los Angeles. His mother, Judy, is an early childhood instructor and his father, Michael is a classical pianist. He grew up in Los Angeles and played for the Reseda Little League team as a kid. When he was eight years old, he was hit by a car and had to go through therapy and counseling to get over his fear of crossing streets.

He started playing baseball since he was a kid and played school level baseball. It is said that he never hit a home run in his four seasons of high school baseball.

Kapler then worked with a startup called Egraphs that was focused on creating electronic personalized autographs. He also became the analyst for Fox Sports 1 network in 2013. In October 2017, he was announced the manager for the Philadelphia Phillies and he worked with then till 2019. Phillies had lost 96 games in the last season and were in their lowest when Kapler joined them. He introduced the theme ‘Be Bold’ for thr players and Phillies performed greatly under his guidance. The 2018 team improved its end-of-season won-lost record by 14 games and in 2019 the team had an 81-81 (.500) record which was Philadelphia Phillies’ best record since 2012. After the season, Kapler was fired and the specific reason behind this is not available.

After that, Kapler joined the San Francisco Giants in November 2019. The team had a win-loss record of 77-85 when he inherited it.
