Ted Turner, an American entrepreneur founded the Cable News Network (CNN) in 1980 and started broadcasting a daily evening show on the channel. Thus, CNN provided her the opportunity of hosting her own show, the “Freeman Reports”, that stretched from 1980 to 1985. In the show, she conducted interviews of renowned personalities including Yitzhak Shamir, Frank Zappa, Hosni Mubarak, Shimon Peres, Rabbi Meir Kahane, and others. She also covered the 5th Annual Cable Ace Awards in 1983. In 1985, Sandi was replaced by the radio presenter, Larry King for his CNN feature “Larry King Live”.
According to a report published in the May 11, 1985 issue of “The New York Times”, a CNN spokesperson said that Freeman refused to adjust with the contract terms of the network.
